Gabriel Cruz

Gabriel Cruz was born in Mexico City in 1966.

From the age of ten, he entered the field of fencing, standing out in the first places in different children's category tournaments. He won his first national junior foil championship at 16 years of age. This championship defends and endorses it for five consecutive years. He was also a first force national champion at age 16, repeating five times. Represented Mexico in World Junior and First Force Championships, Central American and Caribbean Games, and Pan American Games.

In 1992 he was appointed National Foil Trainer by the Mexican Fencing Federation. Among his achievements, he obtained a Pan-American men's foil runner-up and his students also became finalists in the American circuits and invitation competitions. From May 1997 to March 2000 he was a foil coach in the Mexican Olympic Committee, obtaining several awards in different Central American and Caribbean Championships and Pan American Games.

He completed the Master of Arms diploma in France at the National School of Masters of Arms of the French Fencing Federation, was a member of the technical team in Improvement Concentrations of the Regional elite of Brittany , and was also a member of the technical team, in charge of teaching, to train federal monitors and prevost, in Dinard, France.

In December 1995 he took the High Performance Sword fencing coach course with master Daniel Levavasseur, from France.

He completed the diploma in Sports Training and Science applied to sport level I and II at COM, and the continental course in Fencing specialty in Foil with Master Giulio Tomassini from Italy, by PASO and COM.

In May 2003 he obtained the SICCED driver certificate, Fencing .

During August 2004 he made the stay for masters of Fencing specialty in Foil with the Italian master Giovanni Bortolaso, at the CDOM, FEMES, Mexico, DF

In June 2007 the course for fencing master, specialty in saber with master Grzegorek Krysztot from Poland, by the International Fencing Federation, FEMES and CONADE.

Since 2000 he has been a Master of Scenic Combat at the National School of Theater Art of the INBA.

From September 2007 to date he is Master of Arms of the VIP room.
